Mission
To steward a peaceful refuge along the McKenzie River where people can encounter Christ through rest, community, and immersion in God’s creation, cultivating spiritual renewal, gratitude, and a deeper responsibility to care for the world He has made.
An Enduring Legacy
This retreat exists in part because of the legacy of Dr. Bob and Linda Jacobson, who loved the McKenzie River and devoted their lives to serving others—Bob through his work as an OB-GYN, and Linda through her compassionate care for those experiencing homelessness. Through their generosity, this place became possible, and we seek to honor them by continuing a spirit of hospitality, rest, and service.

Our Story
God is sovereign, and His timing is always perfect.
In 2021, David and Sandi Jacobson were led to purchase a 6.5-acre farm from the Shekel family. From the beginning, they felt God place it on their hearts to create a space by the river—a place where people could rest, encounter the presence of the Holy Spirit, and experience healing and renewal.
Only weeks after purchasing the property in December 2021, David began experiencing abdominal pain. What initially seemed uncertain would later be diagnosed as a rare form of lymphoma. David passed away in August 2023 and went home to be with the Lord.
Around the same time, Kevin Wright and his two sons were walking through a season of profound personal loss and transition. For both Kevin and Sandi, the following years were marked by grief, surrender, and a slow, faithful work of healing. In that season, God was quietly and faithfully rebuilding what had been broken.
As time went on, God’s hand became increasingly clear in unexpected ways. In what can only be described as a divine appointment, Kevin and Sandi met briefly in the return line at Jerry’s Home Improvement Store. What began as a simple encounter grew into a shared story of restoration. Eight months later, in God’s perfect timing, they were married by the river.
Today, Kevin serves as a middle school principal and Sandi is a retired second grade teacher. Together, they enjoy time with their blended family of five sons and two daughters-in-law—kayaking the McKenzie River, fishing from the riverbank, and gathering for rest and celebration on the property.
When the family is not enjoying the land together, the retreat center serves a larger purpose: a place for church leaders to plan and pray, for pastors and their spouses to find rest, and for small groups to grow deeper in their faith.
This place stands as a testimony that God is always at work—bringing healing, restoration, and new beginnings in His perfect timing.
